AN innovative arts trail in Crewe town centre gave people the opportunity to reflect and reconnect with nature and their surroundings.

Among the highlights of the trail laid on by arts company SpareParts was artist Anna Berry's 'Breathing Room', a walk-in installation of 28,000 cones mechanically connected to whirr "in and out" to mimic slow breathing. (watch the above VIDEO)

The art work, providing what the hosts said was a "unique sensory experience", was in place in Market Square where SpareParts staff were on hand to explain its subtleties.

Those walking up Victoria Street were treated to an Instagram-inspired art work 'The Great Story of the Infinite Drawing' by French Illustrator Elly Oldman. It was in place on the Royal Arcade demolition site hoardings and along the pavement.

While 'Sit, Stop' by Sally Hogarth, set up at Christ Church offered people a seat to pause for a while and mindfully reconnect with nature.

There were also creative workshops and live performances, including one from from local dancers DMPC, during the two-day weekend Journeys trail, which was commissioned by Crewe Town Council.
