Indian man arrested for immigration offences in Crewe

A man was arrested for immigration offences in Crewe over the weekend, with the individual now with Immigration Enforcement (IE) to enable removal proceedings.
On Saturday 26 July, Cheshire Police arrested an Indian male in the town after checks showed he was breaching the Immigration and Asylum Act by being an overstayer.
The man was then detained in police custody and later apprehended by Immigration Enforcement.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "A male was arrested on Saturday 26 July in the Crewe area on suspicion of immigration offences.

"The male, from India, was arrested after checks showed he was breaching the immigration and asylum act by being an overstayer.
"He was detained in Police custody, and has been collected by Immigration officers to facilitate his removal."
