Crewe couple open new tattoo and piercing shop in 'old-school' unit

A Crewe couple have launched their own tattoo and piercing shop in an old-school unit, aiming to "bring energy" back to a run-down part of town.
Vivid Gold Tattoo and Piercing Studio, Edleston Road, opens its doors at 10am on Monday 21 July, after relocating from Different, Nantwich Road, a shared business space.
Operated by the experienced pairing of James Parnaby and wife, Kayleigh Parnaby, Vivid Gold Tattoo and Piercing Studio has opened in the old Snakey Jake's Custom Amplification music shop.
The new Edleston Road business will also provide a weekly mental health support group for single dads, offering a place for them to come and have a chat over a hot drink.

James told Nub News: "Vivid Gold Tattoo and Piercing Studio opened in just a one-week turnaround. It was very stressful with us doing our own flooring and painting, but it was worth it. What a ride it was.
"I have been a tattooist in Crewe since 2016. I moved to Portugal for two years than came back and worked in a shared barber shop space with Kayleigh until finally opening our own shop.
"We wanted something old-school in look and style, with this unit having bars on the windows. We liked it and went for it.
"I specialise in the likes of fine line mandala tattoos and black and grey floral tattoos, with Kayleigh specialising in piercings.
"She also offers semi-permenant makeup, brows lips and eyeliner. She does great makeup for seasonal occasions like Halloween and festivals.
"We believe Vivid Gold Tattoo and Piercing Studio is a very welcoming, homely and community studio, with me and Kayleigh massive advocates for mental health support.
"People can come in for a cup and tea and a chat. We want to create a weekly single dads group for them to come in and help each other."

Vivid Gold Tattoo and Piercing Studio is adamant Edleston Road is seeing a mini revival as a number of new businesses are opening/have recently opened on the street.
James said: "Edleston Road is not what it used to be. We wanted to open here to bring energy to the area.
"A new seafood eatery is opening down here, another unit is under offer and Instanbul Restaurant has recently launched so things are slowly starting to look up.
"This building was empty for a number of years. It was covered in cobwebs and it had wires chewed from mice. It was our dream to open our very own studio as we had always worked for other people.
"At some point, we will be looking for another tattooist and will keep local residents updated when we are hiring.

"To anyone considering trying us out, we offer 14 years of experience and a quality service. We cant wait to see you."
Vivid Gold Tattoo and Piercing Studio is open 10am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday, as well as occasional weekends (dependent on bookings).
