A local family-run health hub is helping Crewe Alex FC players to get better faster, with a number of first-team professionals benefitting from the "state of the art" treatment.

The Nantwich Clinic, Newcastle Road, has transformed the health and wellbeing of people in South Cheshire.

Operated by husband and wife, Tom and Gill Fox, The Nantwich Clinic offers a wide range of health services, including sports therapy, podiatry, audiology, aesthetics and hypnotherapy.

In recent times, The Nantwich Clinic has been supporting Crewe Alex players to recover from their injuries, delivering positive results.

Players to benefit from the treatment include academy graduate, Joel Tabiner (foot) and striker, Courtney Baker-Richardson (shoulder).

Gill told Nub News: "Crewe Alex have their own physio teams and sports therapists, but the equipment we have here is hard to find and with it being just down the road from them [Reaseheath], they are utilising it.

"We are able to help the players. There is one piece of equipment in particular we know can help get them better faster. That seemed like a no-brainer really.

"After attending a Crewe Alex Business Club meeting, both parties realised we could really work together on supporting the players.

"I used to work at Crewe Alex selling pies when I was still at school and was brought up around football.

In recent times, The Nantwich Clinic has been supporting Crewe Alex players to recover from their injuries, including Courtney Baker-Richardson (The Nantwich Clinic).

"It is brilliant for The Nantwich Clinic to able to help the club, to be able to be involved with the players in awesome.

"So far, we have treated the likes of Courtney, Joel, Christopher Long, Shilow Tracey and Owen Lunt.

"They all enjoy coming here and say it has helped them. The feedback has been very positive, we are really pleased with their comments."

In 2019, the success of The Nantwich Clinic led to customers encouraging Tom and Gill to offer more services.

The business relocated to a large, former residential site, opposite Cheerbrook Farm, which has been up and running since 2021.

This facility has allowed Tom and Gill to expand their health treatments, serving the wider Crewe and Nantwich community and now Crewe Alex players.

Gill said: "Just before Covid we found this place and signed for it in the first lockdown. It took 12 months to renovate the building but it was worth it.

"While we were treating people at our old hub, they informed us they also wanted other services.

"Now, we have branched out and have audiology, aesthetics and lots of rehab. We have also invested in lots of high tech equipment.

"We are on a main road in a prominent location with good parking facilities for customers.

The Nantwich Clinic is open 8:30am to 7pm (Monday to Friday) and 9am to 12:30pm (Saturday) (Ryan Parker).

"We can pretty much help anybody with any issue they have. We will also be launching a new GP surgery later this year with more information on this soon."

Head of commercial at Crewe Alex, James Beckett, told Nub News: "Joining forces with Nantwich Clinic is another exciting partnership for Crewe Alexandra.

"For the football club to be able to tap into the expertise Nantwich Clinic can offer is a real benefit. Their facilities and equipment are state of the art.

"Gill and her team have been really proactive in getting this partnership off the ground. I am also sure they will be able to make a real difference to our supporters too.

"I am sure this will be a partnership that will continue to grow and I'm excited to see it develop over the coming years."
