A major health and beauty retailer is set to open its second store in Crewe this May, with work ramping up at the site.

Superdrug will be opening at the old Carpetright unit, Grand Junction Retail Park, after plans were submitted in October 2024.

The UK's second largest health and beauty chain currently targets to open on Thursday 1 May.

Work started on the new Superdrug development in mid-December, just before Christmas.

The unit was totally stripped out, with  external alterations taking place to the front and rear of the retail premises.

Superdrug signage was put up this April, with the opening now just weeks away.

Its Market Shopping Centre store in Crewe town centre will remain open as it looks to operate two outlets in the local area.

A Superdrug spokesperson told Nub News: "The new Crewe store isn’t due to open now until Thursday 1 May (subject to change).

"Superdrug currently have no plans to close their Crewe town centre store."
