Families can enjoy a series of free outdoor film screenings in Crewe town centre throughout August, as part of the town's Summer Festival of Fun.

Crewe Town Council is hosting the Family Film Club on Lyceum Square every Saturday this month, with family favourites and popular sing-along musicals shown on the big screen.

There is no need to book, with residents simply invited to bring a chair or picnic blanket and enjoy the screenings.

The remaining programme includes:

• Saturday, August 8 – Encanto (U), 11am
• Saturday, August 15 – Ferdinand (PG), 11am, followed by Matilda The Musical Sing-Along (PG), 2pm
• Saturday, August 22 – Lilo & Stitch (U), 11am, followed by Grease Sing-Along (PG), 2pm

The free event is presented by Crewe Town Council in association with CreweCreates and forms part of the council's Summer Festival of Fun.

A spokesperson said: "Bring a chair or picnic blanket and enjoy a fantastic selection of family favourites and sing-along musicals in the heart of Crewe town centre.

"Whether you're looking for a magical family adventure, a feel-good musical to sing along to or a nostalgic classic, there's something for everyone."
