Firefighters wear breathing apparatus to tackle Crewe washing machine blaze

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service rushed to tackle a washing machine blaze, located at a property near Crewe.

On Monday 14 August, Crewe firefighters were called to reports of a blaze on Bradeley Road, Haslington.

At around 11:12am, two fire engines arrived at the scene, finding a washing machine well alight.

Crews entered the property wearing breathing apparatus, putting out the blaze using a hose reel jet.

The firefighters used a large fan to ventilate the area.

Crews were in attendance for approximately 45 minutes.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "Two fire engines attended to a fire involving a washing machine in Haslington.

Crews were in attendance for approximately 45 minutes in Haslington (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

"Firefighters entered the property wearing breathing apparatus and put the fire out using a hose reel jet.

"They then used a large fan to ventilate the area. Crews were in attendance for approximately 45 minutes."
