Firefighters tackle serious Crewe house fire close to schools and college

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service tackled a serious house fire in Crewe - located close to a number of schools and a college.

The incident on Woodside Avenue, Wistaston, close to the junction with Dane Bank Avenue - happened at 5:01pm yesterday (November 3).

One fire engine from Crewe and one from Middlewich arrived at the scene - tackling the house blaze.

Firefighters spent approximately 50 minutes tackling the fire in the kitchen of the property.

They put it out using a hose reel. A large fan was used to remove smoke from the Crewe property.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A fire involving the kitchen of a property in Wistaston was extinguished with a hose reel by firefighters.

"They used a large fan to remove smoke from the property and were at the incident for around 50 minutes."

Firefighters spent approximately 50 minutes tackling the fire in the kitchen of the Woodside Avenue property (Ryan Parker).
