Firefighters tackle bedroom blaze at Crewe home for three hours

Fire crews tackled a bedroom blaze within a Crewe property for three hours, believed to have been started accidentally.

On Friday 17 November, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of an incident on Capenhurst Avenue.

At around 5:52pm, two fire engines from Crewe arrived at the scene, discovering a blaze in a first-floor bedroom.

Crews used a hose reel and covering jet to put out the flames.

No one was injured in the incident, with the bedroom of the Capenhurst Avenue property sustaining damage (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue service spokesperson said: "A hose reel and a covering jet were used by firefighters in breathing apparatus to put out a fire in a bedroom.

"They then used a high pressure fan to clear smoke and a thermal imaging camera to check there were no further hotspots.

"The crews were at the scene for around three hours and no casualties were reported."
