Firefighters rush to van blaze close to Crewe high school

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a van blaze in Crewe - located a short distance from one of the town's high schools.

One fire engine from Crewe quickly arrived at the scene - assessing the situation.

Crewe firefighters found a transit van on fire - with the crew using a hose reel jet to put out the blaze (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

The crew dampened down the area and and confirmed there was no damage to any properties nearby.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the incident to Nub News.

A spokesperson said: "A transit van was on fire at a property on Prunus Road.

"A hose reel jet was used to put out the blaze and firefighters then dampened the area down.

The incident happened as short distance from Sir William Stanier School (Nub News).

"There was no damage to any nearby properties."
