Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a house in Crewe after a 'material' had been left on a cooker hob - causing a serious incident.

The incident on Walthall Street, happened at 1:38pm on Friday (January 6) - within the kitchen of a property.

One fire engine from Crewe quickly arrived at the scene - dealing with the blaze.

Firefighters extinguished the flames and cleared smoke from the building.

There were no injures during the incident - with all residents of the property accounted for.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews were called to a small kitchen fire in Crewe.

"Breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet were used to extinguish the fire.

"It is believed that a piece of material had been left on a cooker hob.

There were no injures during the incident - with all residents of the property accounted for (Ryan Parker).

"A large fan was used to clear smoke from the building and all persons were accounted for."
