Firefighters rush to attend car fire incident on local housing estate
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service rushed to attend a car fire on a new housing estate in Crewe, with smoke seen coming out of the bonnet.
On Sunday 12 November, one fire engine from Crewe arrived at the incident on Alfred Potts Way, Shavington.
Around 2:35pm, crews discovered a car was on fire, but there were yet to be any flames.
The Crewe firefighters dampened down the engine compartment and checked for hotspots using a thermal imaging camera.
No one was injured in the incident, with firefighters arriving just in time.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to a report of a car on fire.
"There was smoke coming out from under the bonnet but no flames.
"They dampened the engine compartment down and checked thoroughly for hotspots using a thermal imaging camera."
