Firefighters respond to spin dryer blaze in Crewe garden
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have responded to a spin dryer fire within a Crewe garden - taking place within the West End of town.
The incident happened in a Badger Avenue garden at 9:06 this morning (September 28).
One fire engine from Crewe arrived at the scene - putting out the blaze.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue service spokesperson: "Firefighters were called to a fire involving a spin dryer in a garden.
"The crew used a hose reel to extinguish the fire."
What is a spin dryer?
A spin dryer is is an energy-efficient dryer, centrifuging the water out of clothes with its rapid spinning.
These dryers are generally much smaller than regular clothes dryers and don't use heat to dry clothes.
They are seen as a convenient and easy way to save energy and time.
What other fire incidents have there been in Crewe?
This Crewe fire incident comes just days after an arson attack - targeting a bin within the garden of a property.
The incident on Bidvale Way, off Stoneley Road, happened on Sunday evening (September 25) at 9:16.
Deliberate bin fires are becoming a common occurrence in the town.
