Fire crews tackled a car blaze around rush hour close to Crewe Railway Station, with no injuries reported.
On Wednesday 4 March, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to an incident on Weston Road.
At 4.56pm, two fire engines from Crewe arrived at the scene, discovering heavy smoke coming from underneath the vehicle's engine area.
An on‑site mechanic helped remove parts of the car's bodywork, allowing Crewe firefighters to access the full engine compartment.
From there, fire crews used hose reel jet to dampen down insulation that had caught fire due to engine overheating.
The vehicle sustained minor damage in the incident.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fire crews attended a vehicle that was heavily smoking from underneath the engine area.
"An on‑site mechanic helped to remove parts of the vehicle's bodywork so crews were able to access the full engine compartment.
"The cab was fully ventilated, and firefighters used one hose reel jet to damp down insulation that had caught fire due to the engine overheating.
"Thermal imaging checks were carried out and the vehicle was left with a responsible person."
