Fire crews called to blaze on truck close to Crewe hospital

Local fire crews were called to a blaze on the back of a truck in Crewe this morning (7 April), containing paper waste.
At 8.12am, two fire engines from Crewe were alerted to an incident on the A530 Middlewich Road, close to Leighton Hospital.
Crewe firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
The contents of the truck were then emptied and dampened down.
No one was injured in the incident, with the cause of the fire not believed to be suspicious.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to a fire in the back of a truck containing paper waste in Leighton.
"A hose reel was used to extinguish the fire, and the contents of the truck were emptied and dampened down.
"A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots."
