Male cyclist in 80s hospitalised after crash in Crewe

A male cyclist in his 80s has been taken to hospital, following a crash with a car in Crewe.

On Tuesday 7 April, emergency services were alerted to an incident on Flag Lane, close to the old swimming baths.

Ar 12.10pm, Cheshire Police and North West Ambulance Service arrived at the scene, discovering an elderly man in the road.

Paramedics took the cyclist to Leighton Hospital after treating him for 45 minutes at the scene. It is thought his injuries are minor.

No arrests were made in the incident. The man is expected to make a full recovery.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: At 12.10pm on Tuesday 7 April, police were called to a collision involving a car and a bicycle on Flag Lane in Crewe close to its junction with Alton Street.

"The cyclist, a man in his 80s, was taken to hospital with injuries which are thought to be minor."
