A family has turned a lifelong dream into a new Crewe food business serving traditional South Indian dishes.

SpiceDise, Edleston Road, opened on Saturday 15 August, owned by Rony Sebastian and Biju Mathai, who have opened the new business after years of cooking and a family history of catering in India.

The name comes from 'Spice', with 'Dise' short for paradise, with the business wanting to keep the food "authentic" and make the "spices and flavours" its focus.

SpiceDise told Nub News: "We live in Crewe as a family and this was a good setup. It's always been Rony and his friend's dream to own a business and share their cooking skills.

"Rony has been cooking since he was 15, and there is a lineage of caterers back in India, so it was his dream to open a business here."

The family has lived in Crewe for five years and has chosen the town as the base for the new venture.

SpiceDise's menu focuses on food from Kerala, on India's south-west coast, including porotta and beef roast, biryani, banana fritters and chai tea.

The former Ko's Kitchen and Tasty World premises has been reconstructed almost from scratch, with an open kitchen and dine-in for up to 12 people.

SpiceDise is preparing to launch a delivery service, with plans to join Just Eat and Uber Eats once the full menu is in place.

The owners added: "What makes us stand out is that we don't cut corners. We serve at similar prices to competitors, but you will feel every single spice on your tongue and taste every single flavour."

"We are setting up delivery now and will be on Just Eat and Uber Eats in a couple of weeks when we have our full menu.

"We like to contribute to the local community , so come along and join us."

SpiceDise is open 11am to 11pm (Monday to Friday) and 9am to 11pm (Saturday and Sunday), with breakfast 9am to 11.30am.

Just for the record Hub news
SpiceDise is in Market street.
Unless I'm mistaken Market Street runs from Oxleys junction with Badger Avenue through to the junction of Oak Street/Wisaston road and Edliston road traffic lights.🤔🧐
