Family-run British retailer closes down Crewe town centre store
By Ryan Parker 18th Aug 2026
A major family-run British retailer has closed down its Crewe town centre store, in another blow to the high street.
Timpson, Queensway, closed its doors for the final time on Thursday 13 August.
Offering services like key cutting, shoe repairs, watch and jewellery repairs, car key replacements and more, the sixth-generation business was situated opposite the old Royal Arcade site.
With over 2,100 stores across its portfolio, Timpson services are still available at Morrisons supermarket on Dunwoody Way.
A notice in the Timpson Crewe shop window says: "This store will be closing on Thursday 13 August.
"Services are still available at your nearest shop, Simpson Ltd, Morrisons, Dunwoody Way, Crewe, located by the self checkout."
Timpson is the latest big name to depart Crewe town centre, after Bonmarché shuttered in the Victoria Centre in March.
Several shops however are expected to open in the town centre in the near future.
