A large family-run company with a construction and hire services store in Crewe has launched new self-storage units, located at the town's old gas works site.

P.E.T Self-Storage Units Crewe recently opened at The Old Gas Works, off Stewart Street.

This expansion marks a significant milestone for the group, operating in Crewe since 1974, which operates a P.E.T Hire store on Earle Street.

P.E.T Group has been operating in Crewe for the last 50 years (Ryan Parker).

P.E.T says it is broadening its portfolio to meet the 'growing demand' for flexible storage solutions in Crewe and surrounding areas.

The new self-storage units offer 20 foot containers designed to cater to both business and household storage needs.

With 24-hour secure access, these units provide a convenient and flexible solution for customers requiring additional space.

Managing director at P.E.T Group, Bill O'Connor, said: "We are excited to bring this new service to Crewe.

"Our self-storage units combine the security and reliability that PET is known for with the flexibility that modern consumers and businesses need."

Key features of P.E.T Self-Storage Crewe units:

  • 24/7 secure access
  • Flexible hire terms with long and short-term options
  • Competitive pricing with discounts for long-term hire
  • Monthly payment plans via direct debit
  • Wind and watertight 20ft containers with marine plywood flooring

In January 2023, P.E.T Hire submitted proposals to relocate its Earle Street store to land off Dunwoody Way, adjacent to McDonald's. These are yet to be approved (Ryan Parker).

In January 2023, P.E.T Hire submitted proposals to relocate its Earle Street store to land off Dunwoody Way, adjacent to McDonald's.

The development would consist of a new building, 25 per cent bigger than P.E.T. Hire's current Crewe facility, with a 28-space car park.

P.E.T Hire hoped to have completed the building by now and moved in this year. This will not be the case as the development is yet to get Cheshire East planning approval.
