On Thursday 12 September, Ei Group Limited (now part of Stonegate Group), submitted a premises licence application on behalf of The Captain Webb, Underwood Lane.

In April 2023, the traditional pub had a big exterior and interior refurbishment ready for its new operators, who also run The Horse Shoe, North Street.

On Friday 13 September, a new Facebook page for The Captain Webb was created (Craft Union Pub Company).

The Captain Webb closed its doors again on Sunday 8 September, with its management team departing.

On Friday 13 September, a new Facebook page for the venue was set up, published with a Craft Union Pub Company image (also part of Stonegate Group).
