An air ambulance landed in Crewe town centre on Sunday (August 16), after a car hits a bike carrying two children, with both expected to make a full recovery.

Shortly before 3pm, emergency services were alerted to a crash on West Street, at the junction with The Market Shopping Centre.

Emergency respondents became aware a bicycle carrying two boys, aged 12 and 13, had been hit by a Peugeot 2008.

The two boys were taken to Leighton Hospital via land ambulance, with their injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information or footage of the incident.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "Shortly before 3pm on Sunday 6 August, police were called to reports of a collision on West Street, Crewe.

"Officers attended and on arrival they found that a bicycle carrying two children had been involved in a collision with a Peugeot 2008.

"Paramedics attended the scene, including air ambulance, and the children, two boys aged 12 and 13, were taken to Leighton Hospital via land ambulance.

"Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"Anyone with any information or video footage which may aid the investigation is asked to call Cheshire police on 101, or visit our website."
