Family launch appeal to find 'hero' who saved dad's life at Crewe restaurant
A local family has launched an appeal to help find a 'hero' who saved a dad's life at a Crewe restaurant - performing CPR when he choked on a steak.
The incident happened inside The Farmhouse Beefeater, Coppenhall Lane on Sunday (November 6).
Dave Holland had taken his children to Crewe restaurant to celebrate his son's birthday.
The 56-year-old choked on a steak, became unable to speak and ran towards the exit before falling unconscious.
Mr Holland's heart stopped for over four minutes but was saved by an unknown man.
This unknown ran over to Mr Holland and performed CPR - saving his life.
Mr Holland's daughter, Char Holland, posted an appeal on social media - hoping to trace the unknown man.
Miss Holland said: "Me and my family are desperately trying to locate the man who was at the The Farmhouse Beefeater in Crewe on Sunday evening around 7pm.
"Without you performing CPR on my dad after he suffered Asphyxia-induced respiratory arrest that led to his heart stopping for four minutes - the hospital said he would not be alive today.
"Thanks to your CPR my dad has come away from this with no brain damage.
"Somebody must know who this hero is. We will be forever grateful that you saved our dad."
Thanks to the unknown man's efforts - Mr Holland suffered no lasting damage to his health.
The hero did not book a reservation and paid in cash - hence the appeal.
