An experienced Crewe Alex FC midfielder has signed a new two-year deal with the club, after his deal was set to expire this summer.

Conor Thomas has made 78 League Two appearances for The Alex since signing from Cheltenham Town in 2022, scoring on two occasions.

The 30-year-old who has represented Coventry City and Swindon Town, joined Liverpool on loan under Roy Hodgson in 2010, but failed to make an appearance.

In 2017, Thomas made 18 appearances for ATK in the Indian Super League.

The defensive midfielder's new deal will keep him in South Cheshire until the summer of 2026.

Crewe host Doncaster in the first leg of League Two play-off semi-final on Monday 6 May (5:30pm).

The Railwaymen will travel to South Yorkshire to face Rovers on Friday 10 May (8pm).
