Enquiries are ongoing' after the body of a man was discovered in Crewe woodland, with his death currently being treated as "unexplained."

On Thursday 22 February, Cheshire Police were called to a wooded area, off Dunwoody Way.

At around 6:52pm, officers arrived the scene, finding the body of a man.

The body of a man, believed to be in his 40s, was discovered in the wooded area to the left of Dunwoody Way (Ryan Parker).

The man, believed to be in his 40s, was confirmed dead at the scene.

His body is yet to be identified, with a Home Office Post Mortem taking place in "due course" to help establish what happened.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 6.52pm on Thursday 22 February, police were called to wooded area off Dunwoody Way following a report of a body.

"Officers attended and discovered a man, believed to be in his 40s, had sadly died.

"He has not yet been formally identified at this stage.

The man's body is yet to be identified, with his death currently being treated as unexplained (Cheshire Police).

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a Home Office Post Mortem will take place in due course to help establish the circumstances.

"Enquiries are continuing."
