Emergency services rush to Crewe rail land following serious 'incident'
A Crewe construction worker has suffered an injury to his leg following a serious "incident" on-site, based on railway land in the town.
On Wednesday 23 August, Cheshire Police and North West Ambulance Service were called to reports of an incident off Gresty Green Road, Shavington.
At 1:25pm, officers and paramedics arrived at the scene, discovering a man had suffered an injury to his leg.
With the incident taking place at a construction site on railway land, British Transport Police officers attended, taking control of the incident.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 1:25pm on Wednesday 23 August, police were called following reports of an incident on Gresty Green Road, Shavington.
"Officers attended and found a man had suffered an injury to his leg. Paramedics have attended the scene.
"British Transport Police also attended and are believed to be taking primacy of this incident as it is believed to have taken place on railway land."
The construction worker was taken to hospital, with his injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
A British Transport Police spokesperson told Nub News: "We were called at 1:39pm today (23 August) to concerns for welfare near Crewe Railway Station.
"On police arrival it was found a man had sustained an injury to his leg.
"The injury is not thought to be life threatening or changing. Paramedics attended."
