Emergency services deployed to serious building blaze in Crewe
Emergency services were deployed to a serious building blaze in Crewe, with fire crews and police at the scene for over two hours.
On Tuesday 28 January, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to an incident on Edleston Road.
Around 9.41pm, fire engines from Crewe and Chester arrived at the scene, supported by Cheshire Police.
On arrival, emergency services discovered a blaze in an outbuilding to the rear of the Crewe South property.
Fire crews used two hose reels to put out the flames, with no one injured in the incident.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to an outbuilding that was on fire at the rear of a property.
"Two hose reels were used to bring the fire under control and crews used a thermal imaging camera at the scene.
"There were no reports of any injuries and they were in attendance for approximately two and a half hours."
Police dealt with closing off a section of Edleston Road, which reopened around midnight. Enquiiries into the fire are ongoing.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "Last night (January 28), we were deployed to a building fire on Edleston Road.
"We assisted Cheshire Fire and Rescue with road closures and cordons, which were in place for roughly two hours while they dealt with the fire.
"Luckily no persons were reported as injured, and enquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing today."
