Fire crews called to arson attack at Crewe waste site

Fire crews rushed to a serious blaze at a refuse site in Crewe, with the incident being treated as an act of arson.
On Wednesday 25 June, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Maw Green Landfill Site, Maw Green Road.
At 7.07pm, two fire engines from Crewe arrived at the scene, discovering plastic piping well-alight.
The blaze, measuring six metres by three metres, was put out by Crewe firefighters using a hose reel jet.
Due to the suspicious nature of the fire, the incident was left with Cheshire Police, who were called to the scene at 7.30pm.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to reports of smoke and a fire at a refuse centre in Crewe.
"The fire, which consisted of plastic piping, measured approximately six metres by three metres, and was extinguished using a hose reel jet.
"The incident was left with police, who were in attendance as this is believed to have been lit deliberately.
"If you have any information about deliberate fires, please report it.
