E-biker, 18, in hospital after being hit by van in Crewe

An e-biker is in hospital after being hit by a Vauxhall van in Crewe South, with Cheshire Police investigating the incident.

On Sunday 16 February, emergency services were alerted to a collision at the junction of Claughton Avenue and Gresty Road.

At 6.53pm, police arrived at the scene, discovering a Vauxhall Vivaro had collided with an electric bike.

The rider of the E-bike, an 18-year-old man, was taken to Leighton Hospital to be assessed.

The driver of the van, a male, was not arrested.

He passed his fit test and was negative for drugs and drink.

Officers closed off Claughton Avenue for over an hour. Enquiries remain ongoing.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 6.53pm on 16 February, police were called to a collision involving an electric bike and a Vauxhall Vivaro at the junction of Claughton Avenue and Gresty Road.

"The rider of the E-bike, an 18-year-old man, was taken to hospital to be assessed.

"Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances."
