Drunk man arrested after getting 'wedged' in-between two fence panels in Crewe

Cheshire Police officers have arrested a drunk man on suspicion of criminal damages, after he got "wedged" in-between two fence panels in Crewe.

On Saturday 12 August, Cheshire Police received reports of a "suspicious male" on Coleridge Way, attempting to enter residents' gardens.

At around 10:15pm, response patrol officers arrived at the scene after receiving several more 999 calls.

After speaking with concerned residents, police located an intoxicated male in a rear garden on Oak Tree Close.

The male, 26, had somehow managed to get himself wedged in-between two fence panels, unable to free himself.

Police arrested the man on suspicion of criminal damages, with several fences on Coleridge Way and Oak Tree Close reported as damaged.

He was also arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

After speaking with concerned residents, Cheshire Police officers located an intoxicated male in a rear garden on Oak Tree Close (Google).

The man currently remains in police custody with investigations ongoing.

On social media, a Crewe Police spokesperson said: "An intoxicated male was located in a rear garden on Oak Tree Close.

"He had somehow managed to get wedged in between two fence panels, unable to free himself. 

"The male 26, from Crewe was arrested on suspicion of criminal damages and being drunk and disorderly.

The 26-year-old man currently remains in police custody with investigations ongoing (Cheshire Police).

"Several fences on Coleridge way and Oak Tree close had been reported as damaged. 

"In what was an unnerving incident for residents, the male remains in custody with investigations ongoing."
