A Crewe town centre pub has started serving "delicious and well-priced" Sunday roasts again, after finally getting its kitchen back up and running.

After a long wait, Alberts Corner, Prince Albert Street, launched its Sunday dinners again on Sunday 6 August.

The Crewe town centre pub is managed by Tony Higson on behalf of London City Pub Group, with the 35-year-old previously operating several other venues.

"The Sunday roasts have gone done very well. It took a while to get our kitchen work completed, now it's about getting new staff and getting them trained up," said Mr Higson.

Albert's Corner's Sunday roasts start from 12pm, with limited spaces available.

The venue encourages customers to book a slot, with choices of beef, ham and lamb available.

Mr Higson told Nub News: "Our fully home-cooked Sunday roasts are delicious and well-priced. You can come and try one with all of trimmings from only £8.95.

"We are delighted to finally have some food up and running again, with a full weekly menu hopefully coming soon.

"Since I took over, I have tried to get Albert's Corner back to where it should be, the place to go for a fun and safe night out in Crewe.

"We have definitely made improvements and will continue to do so.

"This pub has always been family-centred and we aim to keep it that way, but making major improvements along the way.

"Albert's has entertainment booked on Fridays for the rest of the year, with a DJ hosting every Saturday night."

Mr Higson was born in Wigan, with Albert's Corner being the first pub he has managed in Crewe.

The Lancashire manager continues to stamp out unruly behaviour, with the venue recently joining PubWatch, on alert with other venues in the local area.

Mr Higson added: "There have been some issues with anti-social behaviour in recent years but this stops now with better security and maintenance of the venue."

"From 8pm on Friday and Saturday nights, Albert's Corner has a smart casual dress code.

"No tracksuits, jogging bottoms, hats, shorts or work clothes will be allowed - this will help to ensure the venue is respected."

The pub is open 9:30am to 12am (Monday to Thursday), 9am to 2am (Friday and Saturday) and 9am to 12am (Sunday) (Ryan Parker).

Albert's Corner runs free pool nights every Monday and karaoke on Sundays, showing live sporting events all week.

The pub is open 9:30am to 12am (Monday to Thursday), 9am to 2am (Friday and Saturday) and 9am to 12am (Sunday).
