Crewe man to appear in court after being charged with drink driving
A Crewe man is set to appear in court later this month, after being charged with drink driving.
Roman Kowaz, 56, of Heathfield Avenue will appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 29 August.
This follows an incident on Wednesday 9 August, when Cheshire Police response officers were patrolling Victoria Avenue in the town.
At 11:45pm, a Ford S Max was seen "driving erratically" towards the officers, dangerously swerving onto their side of the road.
Officers stopped the vehicle, breathalysing a male driver.
Roman Kowaz, of Heathfield Avenue, blew 97 at the roadside, almost three times the limit of 35.
Mr Kowaz was arrested for drink driving and taken into police custody.
The 56-year-old has since been charged with the offence and released on unconditional bail.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "Roman Kowaz, of Heathfield Avenue, was arrested 11.53pm on Wednesday 9 August.
"Following his arrest, he has since been charged with drink driving.
"The 56-year-old has been released on unconditional bail to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 29 August."
