A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after colliding into a parked van in Crewe causing an oil spill and emergency road closure.

On Thursday 28 September, Cheshire Police received reports of a collision on Frank Webb Avenue.

At around 11:50pm, officers arrived at scene, discovering a car had collided with a parked van.

The collision on Frank Webb Avenue caused an oil spill, with a man arrested on suspicion of drink driving (Alissa Cook-Gray).

Due to an oil spill caused by the collision, an emergency road closure has been in place since, close to the junction of Westbourne Avenue.

A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and has since been released under investigation.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At around 11.50pm on Thursday 28 September, police were called to reports of a collision on Frank Webb Avenue.

"The collision involved a car which had collided with a parked van.

"A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and has since been released under investigation (Cheshire Police).

"He has since been released under investigation.

"The road was closed due to oil on the road surface."
