D&G introducing Crewe bus service improvements from September 1

D&G has announced improvements to bus services in Crewe, with connectivity set to be boosted between Leighton Hospital, Crewe Railway Station, Crewe town centre and Crewe Business Park.

Starting from Monday 1 September, 2025, D&G Bus told Nub News it remains committed to upgrading its network of bus services in the local area, pledging to deliver a "sustainable and environmentally-friendly" bus network.                                                             

New Monday to Friday journeys will be introduced on service 12A, running half-hourly between Leighton Hospital, Parkers Road, Underwood Lane, Crewe Bus Station, Crewe Railway Station and Crewe Business Park.

Some journeys on service 12 will be renumbered as service 13 and will operate via Bradfield Road, North Street and Broad Street between Leighton Hospital and Crewe.

Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday journeys remain unchanged.

These changes are funded by Cheshire East Council through the government's Bus Service Improvement Plan.  

D&G area operations manager for Cheshire, Dan Flanagan, said: "Myself and all of the Cheshire team are excited to deliver the improvements to the network of local bus services to the local communities, offering a reliable alternative to the car.

"The successful collaboration between stakeholders, showcases the positive outcomes that can be achieved when local authorities and bus operators work together to provide valuable local bus services, improve accessibility and reduce the reliance on the car.

Bus changes are funded by Cheshire East Council through the government's Bus Service Improvement Plan (Ryan Parker).
