Delays expected as section of South Cheshire A-road to close for over a month

Traffic delays are expected as a section of major A-road in South Cheshire is closing for over a month.

The A530 Middlewich Road, from Coppenhall Lane Roundabout to the junction of Brian Palin Way, Crewe, is closed from Monday 24 August.

This closure, also affecting Brian Palin Way, will run until Sunday 27 September.

Scottish Power Energy is responsible for the closure, allowing major utility and repair works to take place.

Emergency access will be maintained where possible, along with resident access.

This closure comes during the time Wetherspoon opens its new Crewe pub 'The Marshfield Bank Farm House' in the area on Tuesday 1 September.

Another Cheshire East masterclass. 👌👍

Ridiculous again, roadworks beginning just before the schools go back and indeed when they are back. This road has already been closed numerous times, Including in the last week without notice, forcing traffic down New Minshull rd which is plagued by parked cars, suitable only for one way traffic. Due to the sale of Sunny bank Rd & Pyms lane to Bentley, there is no suitable alternative route. This should be managed with 2 way temp lights, not full road closures!
