By Ryan Parker 21st Aug 2026
A Crewe woman has suffered internal bruising after she and her partner were hit by a car in a Crewe hit-and-run.
The incident happened at around 5.30pm on Tuesday 18 August, at the Earle Street/Vernon Way zebra crossings in Crewe.
In a social media post, Becca Stanley said the female driver of a silver car appeared distracted while speaking to two pedestrians who were on the crossing.
She and her partner began crossing and shouted to alert the driver.
Becca said the driver then moved forward and hit both pedestrians.
The car allegedly stopped before moving forward again and hitting them for a second time.
Becca said her partner had to pull her out of the way of the vehicle.
She said the driver then left the scene without checking whether either pedestrian was injured.
Becca has since attended hospital and suffered internal bruising to her chest, ribs, abdomen and back. Her partner was not injured.
The couple are appealing for witnesses, dashcam footage and CCTV from the area at around 5.30pm.
They are particularly keen to identify two pedestrians who were present at the crossing.
The young woman is described as having blonde hair and glasses, while the young man had dark hair. Both are believed to be in their late teens or early twenties.
Police are also appealing for information about the silver car and its driver. The vehicle may have sustained bumper damage.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 5.54pm on Tuesday 21 August, police were called to reports that two pedestrians had been clipped by a car while walking on a zebra crossing on Earle Street.
"The incident is reported to have occurred at around 5.30pm on 21 August, and the driver of the car failed to stop at the scene.
