Davro and Lily to star in Crewe Lyceum's Christmas panto 'Sleeping Beauty'

THE Lyceum Theatre has announced comedy and television personality Bobby Davro and X Factor finalist Amelia Lily will star in this year's Christmas panto.
The duo will be joined by Cheshire's best-loved panto dame Malcolm Lord for the traditional blockbuster, whose first show is on Friday, December 10.
Bobby Davro is has enjoyed an illustrious television career, including his own shows; Bobby Davro on the Box, Rock with Laughter and Run the Risk, while he has hosted Winner Takes All.
His credits include EastEnders and appearances on Dancing on Ice and Celebrity Big Brother.
Bobby is playing Princess Beauty's best friend, Muddles.
Singer and television personality Amelia Lily became a household name when she achieved third place in the eighth series of The X Factor, going on to reach number 2 in the UK Charts with her single 'You Bring Me Joy'.
In 2017 she was runner-up in Celebrity Big Brother and in 2020 she has appeared in reality series Geordie Shore.
She has had lead roles in Green Day's American Idiot, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Shrek the Musical.
Amelia will play Princess Beauty.
Malcolm Lord returns for his fifth Christmas season at the Lyceum. Having performed for over four decades on television and theatre Malcolm is best-known for his 13-year stint in the classic children's programme Rainbow, playing George and Bungle Bear.
Sleeping Beauty is produced by the world's biggest pantomime producer, Crossroads Pantomimes, whose Chief Executive Michael Harrison said: "The combination of the legendary comic talent of Bobby Davro and the stunning vocals of Amelia Lily will create a truly magical show for our Crewe Lyceum audience this Christmas."

Staff have returned to the Lyceum in recent weeks as venues across the country get ready to stage productions again. The Lyceum was closed last March because of the pandemic.
It restarts with an Elvis tribute act, The Spirit of Elvis, on Saturday, August 28, while there is a Young Producers event, Bubble Up Crewe, running from August 23 to 24 where young people aged 11 to 13 who missed out on the transition from primary school to secondary school due to lockdown restrictions can take part in free creative and cultural activities.
