A cyclist is in hospital with a "serious leg injury," after a car collided with an electric bike at a busy road junction in Crewe.

On Friday 27 October, Cheshire Police received reports of an incident on Dane Bank Avenue at its junction with Nantwich Road.

At around 3:05pm, emergency services arrived at the scene, discovering a car had collided with an electric bike.

Police closed off a section of Nantwich Road while dealing with the collision incident. It reopened around one hour later (Nub News).

The cyclist was found lying in the road and given immediate medical attention.

Following treatment, they were rushed to hospital with a serious leg injury.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: 'Shortly before 3.05pm on Friday 27 October, police were called to reports of a collision on Dane Bank Avenue.

"The incident involved a car and an electrically assisted pedal cycle.

A car collided with an electric bike on Dane Bank Avenue, at its junction with Nantwich Road. The cyclist was rushed to hospital with a 'serious leg injury' (Cheshire Police).

"The cyclist was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury."
