A Crewe man has been arrested on suspicion of domestic assault in the town, after pushing his ex-partner against a wall and assaulting her.

On Wednesday 25 October, Cheshire Police received reports of a female being attacked by a male, near to Mill Street.

The man was seen pushing the woman up against a wall and hitting her.

Cheshire Police response officers quickly arrived on Mill Street, locating and arresting the local man (Cheshire Police).

He was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault, with further evidence being compiled towards the incident.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "On Wednesday 25 October, a report came in of a female being attacked by a male.

"He was seen pushing her against a wall and hitting her.

"Response officers attended the location and the male suspect was Identified and arrested.

"Further information transpired they are ex-partners and he had also been trying to strangle her. 

The Crewe man was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault, with further evidence being compiled towards the incident (Cheshire Police).

"The male from Crewe has been arrested on suspicion of domestic assault, and further evidence is being compiled towards the case.

"Safeguarding and further support has been put in place for the female, as well as referrals for domestic violence agencies."
