A number of Crewe youths have been caught on CCTV causing chaos at fast food chains in the town, after stealing ice cream and hurling abusive at customers.

On Sunday 30 November, Crewe Police released a social media statement titled "We're not loving it," calling out unruly youths at McDonald's branches in Crewe.

The incidents, which also included food being thrown at customers, were caught on the fast-food chain's CCTV and passed on to police, with "certain individuals" identified.

Officers have confirmed there has and will continue to be an "increased presence" at Crewe food outlet locations, allowing customers to enjoy their food in peace.

Crewe Police said: "Groups of local youths have been causing a nuisance at some of our local fast food chains in Crewe.

"This has included stealing ice cream from the machine, throwing food and items at people and shouting at customers.

"Luckily, through local knowledge and CCTV, certain individuals have been identified.

"This post is to warn any other local young people that are considering getting involved, that these fast food chains and our local town has CCTV cameras all over.

"Not only can this behaviour be classed as anti-social behaviour, but you could be looking at other offences such as theft or criminal damage.

"Officers have been giving increased presence at these locations and will continue to do so, so that our community can enjoy these venues as intended, and get back to - 'Live Mas' and 'We're lovin' it'."
