Crewe salon trading for over 20 years wins MP's Small Business of the Month

A Crewe hair salon trading for over 20 years on the edge of the town centre, has won Connor Naismith MP's Small Business of the Month award for November.

The Crewe and Nantwich MP has been running a Small Business of the Month competition since he was elected as the representative for the constituency.

A Cut Above - Hair by Danielle, Market Street, won November's competition, with nearly 100 votes from members of the public.

When Mr Naismith visiting the salon to present Danielle with her certificate, she was in the middle of an appointment with a regular client who had been coming to the salon for over 20 years.

Despite having moved away to Stone, the client still makes a journey of over 40 minutes to get her hair done by Danielle. 

The vote of confidence also continued on social media, with users celebrating her success in the competition, leaving comments like 'I would never let anyone else touch my hair' and '[she] works so hard and [her] dedication and commitment to all of us is above & beyond.'   

Mr Naismith told Nub News: "Celebrating people like Danielle is exactly why I started the Small Business of the Month competition. 

"We have got so many fantastic independent enterprises across Crewe and Nantwich and I am determined to use my platform to raise their profile as much as possible."

To conclude the showcase for 2025, Mr Naismith will be launching a Small Business of the Year competition on Saturday 6 December on his website, where members of the public will be able to vote for participating winners of the previous monthly polls.

The winners will be presented with a prize kindly donated by local sponsors.
