Crewe shop slapped with zero food hygiene rating for 2026
By Ryan Parker 25th Jun 2026
A Crewe convenience store has again been rated zero for food hygiene rating, according to a recent Food Standard Agency (FSA) report.
The FSA Food Hygiene Rating Scheme is aimed at helping people choose where to eat out or shop for food.
This scheme is in partnership with local authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
It gives businesses a rating from 0 to 5 - displayed at their premises and online.
A zero-star hygiene rating means 'urgent improvement is required' for the business (FSA).

All information was taken from the Food Standard Agency website as of Thursday 25 June:
- Premier, 99 Manor Way (Shop) - Zero Star - (16 April, 2026)
A food safety officer from Cheshire East Council inspected the Crewe shop to check it was following food hygiene law and ensuring the food sold was safe to eat.
At all inspections, the officer checked the following three elements:
- How hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored
- The physical condition of the business – including cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation, pest control and other facilities
- How the business manages ways of keeping food safe, looking at processes, training and systems to ensure good hygiene is maintained. The officer can then assess the level of confidence in standards being maintained in the future
Premier was rated zero-star based on these checks.
