Crewe road to remain fully closed for next three weeks

A road in Crewe is set to remain closed for the next three weeks, allowing gas maintenance and repair works to take place.

Wheatley Road, which runs between Sydney Road and Lime Tree Avenue, closed on Monday 26 August.

Cadent Gas is responsible for the works, with the road expected to reopen on Tuesday 24 September.

Sydney Road, by Crewe Green Roundabout, reopened on Friday 30 August (Ryan Parker).

Emergency access will be maintained on the 85-metre road where possible.

This traffic update comes after Sydney Road, between Crewe Green Road Roundabout and Stephenson Drive reopened on Friday 30 August.

These footpath widening works took place for the new 146-home Sydney Place development, being constructed by David Wilson Homes.
