Crewe road closes for almost two months allowing new footpaths development
A Crewe road has closed for almost two months, allowing for the construction of new footpaths.
Manor Way, between Nantwich Road and Salisbury Avenue, closed at 8am on Monday 25 September, for an estimated seven weeks.
The road is targeted to reopen by the end of Friday 17 November, allowing all concrete footpaths to be replaced with tarmac.
Emergency access will be maintained where possible, with diversion routes in place.
A Manor Way resident told Nub News: "I went out to do some shopping in my car and when I came back there were maintenance workers everywhere.
"Even though I live the Nantwich Road end, I was told the drive the other way around [from Salisbury Avenue].
"The workers have told me these works will take a long time.
"They said they will be putting down new tar-mac footpaths.
"People keep tripping up on these slabs currently in place so it makes sense to replace them.
Residents of Manor Way are currently not be able to enter or exit the road from Nantwich Road.
