The Crewe and Nantwich MP Dr Kieran Mullan has called for 'new leadership' - as Prime Minister Boris Johnson's desk piles up with resignation letters.

Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, and health secretary, Sajid Javid, both quit yesterday evening (July 5), as more facts emerged about MP Chris Pincher's conduct.

Mr Pincher has admitted groping men and unacceptable conduct in Parliament while drunk - before appointing him to a position in the Conservative Whips' office.

The total number of resignations has now reached double figures.

Today, Crewe and Nantwich MP, Dr Kieran Mullan, gave his opinion on the news of resignations.

Dr Mullan told Nub News: "The agenda for levelling up this country that the PM has laid out is the right one, but its clear now that we need new leadership to deliver it."

This comment comes after Dr Mullan voted against the Prime Minister in a no confidence vote back on June 6.

Crewe and Nantwich MP, Dr Kieran Mullan, says the country needs new leadership to deliver levelling up (Crewe Nub News).

The Crewe MP explained this decision, saying: "A lot of Crewe Nub News readers told me about the sacrifices they made during the lockdown.

"They rightly expected people making those rules to stick to them. Even if not all their neighbours were, they deserved better from government."

Leader of Cheshire East Council, Cllr Sam Corcoran, has also called on Boris Johnson to be removed from office.

Cllr Corcoran, Leader of the Labour group on Cheshire East, said having an "untrustworthy" Prime Minister was damaging to the reputation of all politicians and to Britain's reputation across the world.

Leader of Cheshire East Council, Cllr Sam Corcoran, has also called on Boris Johnson to be removed from office (Cheshire East Council).

He said: "Boris Johnson is the first Prime Minister ever to be found guilty of breaking the law whilst in office – and it was a law that he made.

"He has been sacked twice for lying and he has lost the confidence of the nation.

"Despite Boris Johnson's lack of integrity, there are still Conservative MPs willing to support him and this rotten government.

Cllr Corcoran is a ward councillor for Sandbach Heath and East. He was disappointed Sandbach MP, Fiona Bruce, has not publicly spoken out on the Prime Minister's lack of integrity.

He added: "With each new ministerial resignation, Boris Johnson is surrounding himself with less and less competent individuals as he desperately clings onto power."

Crewe West Labour councillor, Connor Naismith, commented on the resignations last night - July 5 (Crewe Nub News).

Last night, there was also reaction to the senior resignations from the Crewe West Labour councillor.

Cllr Connor Naismith told Nub News: "Some people may be tempted to say these are 'honourable resignations. '

"But, people in Crewe and Nantwich will not forget how Rishi Sunak, Sajid Javid and the rest of them went out to prop up this liar of a Prime Minister day after day after day.

"Why are they only resigning now but not when it became clear that the prime minister had partied while our loved ones died?

"It's the rats fleeing the sinking ship that is this government because they see a leadership contest on the horizon."
