Two more vape shops in Crewe have been hit with closure orders, with cash and counterfeit cigarettes seized.

On Tuesday 25 August, Vinos Mini Market (formerly Supernews) and Hightown Mini Market were visited by Cheshire Police and Trading Standards.

Following the operation, applications for closure orders were made, with Crewe shops now boarded up.

Vinos Mini Market and Hightown Mini Market are now two of eight premises recently shut following investigations into anti-social behaviour and failures to comply with age-restricted sales laws.

The others are Liam Grocery Shop, Top Gee and Bob Shop on Nantwich Road, Infinity Mini Market, Market Street and High Street Market, High Street, along with Friendly Mart on High Street, Nantwich.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "On Tuesday 25 August, officers from Cheshire Police conducted partnership visits with Trading Standards to a number of vape shops in Crewe.

"A large amount of cash was seized during the visits, along with counterfeit cigarettes.

"Following the operation, applications for closure orders were made for two stores on Hightown and Market Street."
