Crewe man charged after damaging police car following West End takeaway theft

A Crewe man has been charged with criminal damage after stealing from a local takeaway and vandalising a police car while under arrest in the town.
During the evening on Saturday 16 August, Cheshire Police received reports of an incident at a takeaway on West Street.
Officers were told the male had caused issues at the West End eatery and stolen food.
Police were informed the man threatened violence towards a member of the public, damaging parked vehicles with a metal pole.

Officers located and detained the male in the West End, arresting him on suspicion of theft, affray and criminal damage offences.
Tyson Banks, of West Avenue, has since been charged with criminal damage relating to an incident in a police car while under arrest. Enquiries remain ongoing.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "On Saturday 16 August, we were called to reports of a theft from a takeaway on West Street, Crewe, resulting in the arrest of a 38-year-old man.
"The male initially was reported to have caused issues at a takeaway in the town and had stolen food.
"He then threatened violence towards a member of the public, and went on to cause damaged to parked vehicles with a metal pole.

"Response officers located and detained the male in the West end, and he was arrested on suspicion of theft, affray and criminal damage offences.
"Tyson Banks, of West Avenue, Crewe, has since been charged with criminal damage relating to an incident in a police car following his arrest."
