A 22-year-old Crewe man already in prison has been sentenced, after being found guilty of assaulting a woman.
Kelvin Palin, of HMP Fosse Way, appeared at Crewe Magistrates' Court for a trial on Wednesday 29 October after pleading not guilty to two counts of assault by beating.
He was found guilty and sentenced to eight weeks in prison on top of the sentence he is currently serving for another violent offence.
The assaults occurred at an address in Crewe in 2023.

PC, Ryan Foster, said: "Palin's 41-month sentence for intentional strangulation [18 months] and assault occasioning actual bodily harm [23 months], which he was found guilty of in April this year, has now been lengthened after further offences were reported.
"I hope his time behind bars will curb his violent behaviour towards other people.
"It is shocking behaviour which we will do all we can to bring before the courts to seek justice for victims."
