St Thomas More Catholic High School in Crewe has received funding through Labour's Condition Improvement Fund (CIF), which secures vital repairs to crumbling schools.

The Condition Improvement Fund opened for applications in January of last year, to support various schools and colleges in carrying out vital building work for the safety of students and teachers.

This Labour government allocated £470 million for CIF projects, with the Department of Education last week announcing St Thomas More was one of the schools allocated funding in the 2025-26 round.

Crewe and Nantwich MP, Connor Naismith, said: "It is the bare minimum that both students and teachers should feel safe when they come to school.

"Unfortunately, the Tories ignored many buildings that had issues, or in some cases were literally crumbling, so we are stepping in to pick up the pieces.
