Crewe firefighters tackle garage blaze for almost two hours after it spreads to house extension
Crewe and Audlem firefighters tackled a garage blaze for almost two hours, after it spread to a house extension on the edge of town.
On Tuesday 22 August, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a blaze on Earls Road, Shavington.
At around 7:30pm, one fire engine from Crewe and one from Audlem, arrived at the scene, wearing breathing apparatus.
Crews remained at the incident for approximately 100 minutes, using a hose reel jet as well as a covering jet to put the fire out.
North West Ambulance Services arrived at the scene to check over the occupiers of the house.
Everyone was found to be safe and well, getting out of the building in good time.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters from Crewe and Audlem tackled a fire involving a garage that had spread to an extension.
"They wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel jet as well as a covering jet to put the fire out.
"Crews dampened down the area and remained at the incident for approximately one hour and forty minutes.
"Paramedics were also in attendance to check over the occupiers, everyone was safe and out of the building."
