Multi-way traffic lights are in operation on a busy Crewe road and junction for the next week, allowing important utility repair and maintenance works to take place.

Three-way traffic signals are in place on Nantwich Road and its junction with Salisbury Avenue until midnight on Thursday 31 August.

These 10-day works, which started on Monday 21 August, allow Scottish Power to carry out emergency gas maintenance works in the area.

Traffic has been seen building up in the Salisbury Avenue area of Nantwich Road around peak times (Ryan Parker).

The normal traffic lights in the area are currently off with temporary signals in place.

With works approved by Cheshire East Council, traffic has been seen building up in the area around peak times.

A local resident resident told Nub News: "The works have to be done, but they are frustrating and causing a lot of disruption in the area.

"Hopefully they will be completed on time and normal service will be resumed."
